Labóh at Milan Design Week 2026: Six Projects, One Week of Design
From April 20 to 26, Milan once again turns into the world epicenter of design. Milan Design Week 2026 brings together the most stimulating projects from the international scene, and Labóh will be there supporting four of its clients in a programme full of exhibitions, installations, and conversations. In addition to all this, we will also be directly involved in an exciting project curated by a young professional from the Labóh team.
→ Inspired in Barcelona: Materia prima — Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation
Chiesa del Carmine, Salone Scalabrini, Via del Carmine 10 | April 20–26
The Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation arrives at Fuorisalone with a proposal that is both sensory and conceptual. Curated by Queralt Suau Studio, with photography by Txema Salvans and a participatory experience designed by Andreu Carulla, Materia prima uses bread and olive oil as a metaphor for the creative process: humble, essential ingredients full of possibilities. Three scenes guide visitors from contemplation to tasting, with a narrative thread that connects tradition, innovation, and the uniqueness of Barcelona’s design ecosystem. A collective celebration of design as a living process.
→ Renaissance of the Real — USM Modular Furniture x Snøhetta
Fondazione Luigi Rovati, Corso Venezia 52 | April 20–26
At a time when algorithms mediate our desires and the digital replaces the tangible, USM Modular Furniture and the transdisciplinary architecture studio Snøhetta present a multisensory installation that invites us to reconnect with the present. Created in collaboration with artist and experience designer Annabelle Schneider, Renaissance of the Real activates the senses—touch, sound, and sight—to open a space for genuine connection. USM as a stable framework; human experience at the center.
→ Wonderland of the Monsters — USM Modular Furniture x Kasing Lung
Via San Marco 26 | April 20–26
USM partners with Kasing Lung, creator of The Monsters universe—and the iconic Labubu—to present Wonderland of the Monsters, a collection that merges Swiss design precision with the artist’s boundless imagination. The collaboration includes the limited-edition collectible piece Beautiful Thing!: a USM display cabinet housing the exclusive Labubu “Bob” character, with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist and NFC verification. Modular design and playful art come together in an unexpected and memorable encounter.
→ Close up – The shapes of time — External Reference / Hoper Aperta
Museo Mangini Bonomi | April 22–26
The lighting piece Sigillo, designed by Barcelona-based architecture studio External Reference—and previously shown at the EU Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka within the exhibition Design Beyond Things, curated by Miriam Giordano (Labóh CEO) and Patrizia Catalano—is part of Close up – The shapes of time, an exhibition by HoperAperta in the courtyard of the Museo Mangini Bonomi. The show explores time, memory, and the transformation of forms, where Sigillo is presented as a light sculpture that, in the studio’s words, “encapsulates the Mediterranean sun in a crystalline block.”
→ Unfold Stories – From Paper to Steel — External Reference / Hyundai
Torneria Tortona, Via Tortona 32 | Thursday April 23, 17:30–19:30
Carmelo Zappulla, CEO of External Reference, will take part in Conversazioni con i Visionari—a series of talks organized by Hyundai within the Unfold Stories – From Paper to Steel initiative—together with Eduardo Ramírez, Chief Designer at Hyundai Design Center Europe. A conversation about the creative philosophy connecting space and vehicle, design and vision.
→ Dos Mil Quatre-Cents Setanta Grams — Supported by Labóh
CAP.A Ventana, Via Plinio 37, Porta Venezia | April 20–25
Dos Mil Quatre-Cents Setanta Grams is a collective exhibition curated by Eva Castany, Pau Geis, Nicole Rambla (from the Labóh team), Irene Segarra, and Marina Vera. It brings together 12 pieces of furniture and lighting designed by 18 young Catalan designers under a shared constraint: each object weighs exactly 2,470 grams. In total, 29 kilos of emerging Catalan design.
Weight—normally a secondary data point—becomes the starting point and a statement of intent: a reflection on materials, processes, and the responsibility of designing today. The pieces, ranging from ceramics and textiles to stainless steel and glass, are displayed on a shared plinth at CAP.A’s Ventana space in Porta Venezia, forming a collective portrait of new Catalan industrial design sensibilities.
With the support of ADI-FAD and architect Paolo Sarra, the exhibition proposes a more human, artisanal, and playful approach to everyday objects, moving away from dominant industry narratives.
→ Un'ora di luce — Davide Groppi
Volumnia, Stradone Farnese 33, Piacenza | March 26 – May 26 (special Design Week hours: April 18–26, 10:00–19:00)
Although outside Milan, this exhibition is an essential part of the spring design calendar. Curated by Marco Sammicheli, Un'ora di luce traces over forty years of Davide Groppi’s work through installations that give depth to darkness and substance to light. A wonder machine between poetry, industry, and design by a creator with whom Labóh has collaborated for many years.
See you in Milan.
